The Silverstein Institute was founded in 1979 by renowned ear surgeon, Dr. Herbert Silverstein. Apart from this inspiring title, Dr. Silverstein is also a clinic research specialist and Meniere's treatment innovator. Backed by his highly educated team of medical professionals, the Institute has consistently provided a high level of leadership, pioneering the way in the medical world today by offering advanced diagnostic, specialty care and successful treatment for disorders of the head, neck, ear, nose and throat.
The Silverstein Institute has 4 divisions: the Florida Ear and Sinus Center, the Florida Voice and Swallowing Center, the Ear Research Foundation and Medical Hearing Systems, all of which comprise an extensive range of expertise, trailblazing the way in high standards of quality ENT care (Ears, Nose and Throat). All three locations, Sarasota, Venice and Lakewood Ranch, are bustling hubs of people of different cultures and languages from all across the United States that are drawn to receive premier care from our physicians and support team of clinical experts.
To aid both the Institute and its determined mission, the not-for-profit Ear Research Foundation (ERF) as mentioned above, was founded by Dr. Silverstein with three goals comprising of research, education and community service for those with hearing loss and balance disorders. Research to develop techniques to better treat patients, education to disseminate knowledge of the latest treatment options both to physicians and the general public, and community service to provide free and reduced fee care for needy individuals and children, including hearing aid and cochlear implants programs. We aim to give hope and hearing to those suffering from deafness.
