everyday noiseHyperacusis, or noise intolerance, affects a small percentage of the population. People with this problem find it difficult to be in loud restaurants and noisy situations and their quality of life may be affected. Ringing in the ears, or tinnitus, will often accompany hyperacusis. A research study is currently underway to investigate hyperacusis treatment options.

For more information on Hyperacusis, please click here to read 'When Everyday Noise is Unbearable'- an article published recently in the New York Times

If you have these symptoms and are interested in learning more about this research study, please contact Dr. Herbert Silverstein via email at earsinus@aol.com or call the Silverstein Institute at 941-366-9222 or 888-418-9200.
