We are pleased to welcome Julie Daugherty back to our practice!
Over the last several years Julie has studied to obtain her Ph.D. She has now rejoined us as both a nurse practitioner, seeing patients in the clinic, as well as our new Assistant Director of Research for the Ear Research Foundation.
Julie Daugherty, NP-C is native of St. Louis, Missouri. She began her nursing career in 1986 working in various areas of critical care before entering the field of Otolaryngology in 1997 as Dr. Silverstein's assistant and the Clinical Director. In 2006, she graduated from the University of South Florida as an adult nurse practitioner and is currently certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. In 2011, she returned to USF to work on her Ph.D. in nursing science with an emphasis on the relationship between hearing and cognition. She graduated this past May and has now returned full-time to the Silverstein Institute.
In addition to her new focus of overseeing our research programs, Julie has a special interest in tinnitus. She has a passion for providing education to her patients, peers, and the community about the prevalence, causes, and various treatment options for tinnitus.
